Matt Homewood
HCPC Registered Specialist Mental Health Occupation Therapist (OT75569)
Drawing on my own path with inattentive ADHD and burnout, I bring lived understanding alongside professional OT knowledge to support your wellbeing. My druidic path and deep bond with nature shape the spaces we share, often by the fire with a warm brew, where energy work, reflection, and practical strategies flow together. These sessions are for anyone struggling with their mental health, simply navigating stress, overwhelm, or even the early signs of burnout; those feeling isolated, struggling to cope, or simply seeking more mindful ways of living. Together, we create a personal toolkit that supports you not only in times of struggle but also in preventing stress, strengthening resilience, and reconnecting with your authentic flow.
After completing my degree, I chose to specialise in mental health, where I’ve worked with a range of models and approaches. For many years, I used the traditional MOHOST framework, but I've always found the Kawa Model to offer something more powerful: it captures how deeply nature supports mental well-being.
The Kawa Model uses the image of a river to explore your life:
Water = your wellbeing and flow
Rocks = challenges you face
Riverbanks = your environment
Driftwood = your personal traits and strengths
Because Kawa isn’t tied to one culture or way of being, it adapts to people with diverse experiences, including those who are neurodiverse. To balance this, I also use the PEOP Model — Person, Environment, Occupation, and Performance — which provides a straightforward way to record and track progress. Some people view this as a gap in Kawa, so these models complement each other beautifully together. The PEOP Model helps us take a step back and look at the bigger picture: you as a whole person, your surroundings, the activities that matter to you, and how you participate in them. By combining these two models, my work is both clinically grounded and deeply personal. Together, we’ll explore what’s blocking your flow, build on your strengths, and create practical, nature-based strategies that support your balance, confidence, and wellbeing.
I invite you to join me in some of my favourite nature spots, where we can share a brew by the fire (weather permitting) and explore the flow of your journey. Together, we’ll gently uncover any blocks or challenges you may be facing, while I also share practical OT inspired tips for adapting your environment to support your growth more effectively.
To complete our time, we’ll create a draft engagement plan giving you clarity and direction while allowing space for your own rhythm. You’ll leave feeling relaxed, supported, and empowered to embrace the next steps at your pace.
From my own lived experience of burnout and inattentive ADHD, I’ve built a personal toolkit of strategies to support mental wellbeing. Combined with my extensive knowledge of mental health approaches, this has grown into a unique and powerful programme to help you find your way back on track.
Together, we’ll embrace the restorative benefits of nature while I gently guide you. You’ll have the space to reflect, share your insights, and shape the journey at a pace that feels right for you.

Not all of us suffer from mental health issues, but we all encounter stress, frustration, and the challenges of life. Ignoring these warning signs can lead to burnout. As an Occupational Therapist, my purpose is to help people achieve a meaningful balance in their occupations. An essential element of this is maintenance and prevention, which can be achieved by utilising personalised toolkits to help maintain and manage their mental well-being, much like a regular MOT.
Our education system often overlooks these essential tools, but through my extensive knowledge and experience, I encourage you to harness these individualised strategies. They can empower you and five of your friends, colleagues, and family, helping everyone to engage with nature and incorporate meaningful practices into daily life.
The insights gained from these sessions can inspire you to nurture your mental well-being while enjoying life to the fullest.
